The Western Isles

Day 16 Monday 23rd April

Monday began wet and windy and we went to pray at Eriskay then up through various villages in South Uist and arrived at Grimisham and had a coffee and prayer time at the Church of Scotland manse with Andy and Norma Downie (Andy was the prison chaplain for Kilmarnock Prison at one time) We then went to the Minstry Centre where Rev Ian Macaskill is based and we had a great time of praise and prayer and also they provided us with lunch. The team then went on to pray around various sites in North Uist – I went back to the manse to do some computer work. We all met up for dinner before doing a prayer walk in Balivanich then an evening rally - this was the largest crowd of Christians gathered on Benbecula for a long, long time. I preached on the excitement experienced by the early church and applied it to today.
And so off to bed once more – the team was sleeping in various homes and I slept in the motor home. Early bed tonight as we have a 5.30am rise to catch the ferry over to Harris and Lewis.
